Risner Review
Week of February 17, 2014
I am so glad we were able to have a full week
last week! Hopefully, we are on the
right track and our weeks will return to normal. We almost to our 100th Day of
School. If we don’t miss any days of
school this week, our 100th day will be celebrated on Friday. I have some very fun activities planned for
this day!
Math- We will take our next math test next
week. We will continue to work on math
facts; number stories; and greater than, less than, and equal to. Continue to check your child’s homework and
make sure to they return it to school the next day. Remember, it counts as part of their grade!
Letters/Reading-Students will continue to bring
a book home every night to read. Remind
them to tap out unknown words and to look for smaller words inside bigger
words. We have also been working on characters,
setting, main events, and the problem in the story. We have also been learning the sounds: ar,
er, ir, or, and ur. Ask your child why
we call these combinations “Bossy R’s”.
Our new Trick Words are: would, could, and should.
Specials Schedule-Monday-Music/Gym, Tuesday-Art,
Wednesday-Gym/Music, Thursday-Library, and Friday-Music/Gym. *Make sure your child is wearing or bringing
proper gym shoes on the days we have gym.
Important Information-Friday, March 21st

Break is Monday, March 24th-Friday, March 28th. Enjoy your time off!
