Golden Apple Award
Our students have required more resources and support than ever before given the nature of this challenging school year. I think we can agree that our staff and teachers have done a masterful job of creating an environment that is supportive and productive. Sometimes it’s difficult to think of just one teacher or staff member who has been a positive influence on our students, and we appreciate our community’s input on how we are meeting their own standards of excellence in how we impact and care for our students.

We know many of our educators go above and beyond in order to ensure our students are as successful as possible in the classroom, and many continue that work in making sure students are laying foundations on which to build success for the future. The Golden Apple Award is not meant to single out a person for their professional achievements. Rather, it’s meant to highlight the many unique ways in which those of us at New London go about supporting positive behavior and nourishing our students’ need for growth.

All current Preschool through 12th grade staff and teachers who have been with us a minimum of three years are eligible for the award, including teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, office staff, educational aides and maintenance staff who have made a dramatic difference in a student’s life. I know there are many worthy candidates to choose from and I think the fact we’ve gotten so many inquiries already speaks to how important our teachers and staff are to our students and community.

If you are interested in nominating a staff member, please use the Golden Apple Award Nomination Form and turn it in by May 7. The Board’s Personnel Committee will then select the winners who will be honored at a Board of Education meeting. The nomination from can be found below.
