Beginning in 2022, the library underwent a transformation. Lindsey Byron, Director of the New London Public Library, and Linda Byron, Library Aide, have worked diligently to bring the library back to a vibrant space for learning and enjoyment. Every student has a library card! The library card is also their lunch card. The elementary classes were welcomed back in after Christmas break and visit the library every 2 weeks to browse and check out books. The next step will be to welcome middle school and high school back!
The library is now part of the Serving Every Ohioan consortium. This brings many benefits for the students. One, their school library card will work at any branch within the SEO consortium, which includes the New London Public Library. Two, we can request books that the school doesn’t own from other libraries for students and staff. To order books from other libraries, you will need to go to the online catalog and log in using the student’s card ID as the username and the password is 9453. Three, school library books can be returned at the school or at the public library. Fourth, we are continually working to expand the relationship between the school and the public library to offer more programs and services to New London students.
